SB 128 – The Supplemental School Year Bill

Kentucky Senate Bill 128 has been approved by the Kentucky General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Beshear. This bill, also known as the “redshirt” or the “do-over” bill, allows K-12 students currently enrolled in public schools to request to use the 2021-2022 school year as a supplemental year. The student can retake and/or supplement coursework already completed.

FREE Therapy for students

FREE Therapy for students* (7-12). The WEDCO public health district has contracted with UK Adolescent Medicine to provide medical and mental health services to Nicholas County middle and high school students. This means that free therapeutic counseling services can be provided to students at the Middle/High School. With 2020 being so challenging and COVID-19 being an ongoing stressor, having the ability to talk to a counselor can be so helpful. The students have the option to see us in person, at the school, or through a virtual telehealth route, utilizing most any electronic device (computer, smart phone, etc.). To get started or if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kacey Miller at (859) 289-3780 for further details! We look forward to hearing from you.
