Invitation to Bid-Banking Services 2018-2020

The Nicholas County School District is currently receiving bids for the Banking Services for the District, for the 2018-2020 School Years.  For more information, visit www.nicholas.kyschools.us/Administration2/22.

No School- Friday, March 30th

Nicholas County Schools will be closed Friday, March 30th due to lack of substitute teachers. 

No School - Wednesday March 21, 2018

There will be no school at Nicholas County Schools today. 

No School-Monday, March 12, 2018

There will be no school for Nicholas Schools  March 12, 2018.  This is a regular snow day.  

No School -- Friday, March 16, 2018

Nicholas County Schools will observe a Non-Traditional Instructional Day (NTI) #10 on Friday, March 16, 2018. This will allow the entire staff to participate in a safety training provided by the Kentucky State Police. Staff members will be available the entire day, by phone or email, to communicate with your student. Due to training, the school campus will be closed. 

NO SCHOOL- Thursday, February 22, 2018

There will be NO SCHOOL for Nicholas County Schools on February 22, 2018 due to high water. This will be NTI Day # 9. Should students have questions regarding packets, please call their school between 9 am- 3 pm. 

No School Monday, February 12, 2018

No school in Nicholas Co. today, Monday, 2/12/18. This is NTI day 8. Please email your child's teacher or call the school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. if assistance is needed.

Make plans to be at the dedication of the Nicholas County Elementary School and tour our students' amazing facililty. 

Lady Jackets Win 10th Region All A Championship 10th Region All A Champions

Congratulations to the Nicholas County Lady Jacket Basketball Team as they defended their 10th Region All A Championship on Thursday, January 18th defeating Bishop Brossart High School. 

The Lady Jackets will play in the state All A Championship at Eastern Kentucky University on Wednesday, January 24th at 10 am versus the champions from Region 6. 

Pre-sale tickets are on sale at the high school.

10th Region All A Championship Basketball Games Rescheduled

10th Region All A Championship basketball games have been cancelled for Wednesday, January 17th. 

Games have been rescheduled for Thursday, January 18th at Nicholas County High School Gym. 

GIRLS   6 pm      Bishop Brossart vs. Nicholas County 

BOYS    8 pm      Paris vs. Robertson County

Basketball Games Rescheduled

“All A” basketball games at Nicholas County High School versus Robertson County HS have been rescheduled for tomorrow evening (01-09-2018) at 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

Project Graduation Meeting - January 9th at 5:30pm

Project Graduation meeting will be 1/9/2018 at 5:30pm in the high school cafeteria.  It is imperative that you attend.  We will be discussing/planning the upcoming AAU tournament being held on January 27th and 28th.   We will also be dividing up donation responsibilities.  Thank you and hope to see you there.

FBLA is Successful at Regional Conference FBLA Regional Conference

Forty one members from the Nicholas County FBLA chapter attended the Region 5 Leadership Conference at Morehead State University on March 14th.  FBLA members competed against over 600 students from 27 schools ranging from Pikeville to Ashland to Bracken County.

During the conference, Zach Linville successfully campaigned to be the 2018-19 Region 5 President and will serve on the 2018-19 State Executive Council.  

Samantha Sowell and Zach Linville ended her yearlong commitment as the Region 5 President and Reporter.  Samantha will conclude her time on the State Executive Council in April at the State Leadership Conference.

Nicholas County FFA places among top 16 in the Nation FFA at National Convention

The 90th National FFA Convention was held in Indianapolis Indiana, October 24th-October 28th. This year the convention had over 67,000 registered members, advisors, and guests in attendance. This is the largest youth convention held in the United States. Nicholas County traveled with 40 students ranging from 8th grade to 12th grade.
